John L. Thomas, P.E.
Owner/Manager
John is a graduate of Montana State University. There he received a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis. John has a diverse background of experience including: subdivisions, structural engineering, transmission lines, electrical sub-stations, water systems, wastewater treatment, storm water, drainage plans, and project management. With an NCEES council record and licensure in many states, John is able to provide engineering anywhere a project is located. Born and raised in the Flathead, he considers it a great privilege to be able to practice his profession in the best place in the nation to call home.
Matt Nerdig, P.E.
Project Manager
Matt is a graduate of Montana State University. There he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with the Bio Resources Option (Environmental emphasis). He worked in construction for several years to gain some practical experience. He has training and experience in environmental, subdivision layout, septic design, site civil, construction management, structural, water and wastewater treatment and supply systems, environmental impact analysis, storm water control and drainage, and land remediation. He is a member of the Order of The Engineer and is working on his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Certification.
Robert Smith, P.E., PTOE
Project Manager
Rob is a graduate of Montana State University with almost 20 years experience in engineering. He has worked in both private consulting and as a municipal staff engineer. The experience he has includes commercial & residential development, traffic engineering, municipal capital improvement projects, water, sewer, storm water, streets, public information, and project management. He also has a nationwide credential as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer.
Robert Guditis, P.E.
Retired Founder
Bob founded A2Z Engineering in the 1980's and served as its main design engineer until John Thomas' arrival in 2005. Bob served as a conscientious engineer, friend and mentor. He now enjoys retirement with his family.
Daniel Hughes,
P.E. Project Manager
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering , but has been working in the civil field since graduating. He is a registered civil PE in the state of Montana. He has extensive experience in Structural Engineering design: including Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and specialty applications such as Mining, Amusement Parks, retrofit applications, and bunker designs. In his spare time, he frequents the gym and enjoys the Montana outdoors.
Zach Smith, P.E.
Project Engineer
Zach was a legendary viking leader and hero of Old Norse poetry and sagas from the Viking age. According to this traditional literature, Zach distinguished himself by many raids against Francia and Anglo-Saxon England, during the 9th century.
Reyna Thomas
Retired Greeter
Reyna served as an office hospitality greeter from 2006 until old age levied its final toll in 2018. In 12 years of customer service she never ate a single client.
Sage Nerdig
Retired Greeter
Sage Nerdig served as an accomplished customer greeting representative from the years of 2006 to 2019, when old age called him to retirement. Sage's successor, Huck, now serves in his stead. Huck brings a unique skill set which involves his owner becoming acquainted with the dog catcher whenever a customer fails to close the office door. Huck also thinks it is funny when his owner shouts for him and people think he is swearing.
